Role description:

Full time. Hours available are mainly 8am-6pm working alternative weekends. However, you will need to be flexible in order to accompany clients to events in the evening and at weekends on occasions. Applicants must be 18+Qualifications will include NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care. Willing to work towards NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care and an Apprenticeship in Activities or equivalent. Required experience and knowledge of Dementia, with an understanding of how those living with dementia can be affected. Good communication skills and literacy skills are essential, as well as an ability to plan and organise events. You will need to be able to work unsupervised and research new ways in which to engage those with dementia, by monitoring behaviour and adapting activities to suit. Duties will include all aspects of caring for elderly residents with dementia. You must be creative with an interest in the likes of Arts and Crafts, Music, Gardening, Photography and be IT competent. Pay will be determined on experience and qualifications. Your hourly rate will be reviewed again on completion of a 6 month probationary period/or permanent position.
