Asmall Hall is located on Asmall Lane on the outskirts of Ormskirk. It is a beautiful 17th Century Manor House, set in acres of landscaped gardens and woodland, giving the feeling of tranquility and peacefulness. Only 5 minutes from Ormskirk town centre and 15 minutes from Southport.

Since the change of ownership, late 2016, Asmall Hall is in the process of being fully refurbished, providing a refreshing and revitalised environment for our residents and employees. Our dedicated team of care professionals have been focusing on bringing the level of care up to the high standards expected of the Group.

The Role

At Asmall Hall, we are searching for a new Head Housekeeper to join our team. This is an exciting new role that would suit a someone who is currently a Head Housekeeper or a Housekeeper but looking to take the next step up.

Please take careful note, this is a field based job and so you will be leading from the front and working alongside your colleagues and doing the housekeeping jobs with them, but you will also be their supervisor.

In this role you will be:

  • Responsible for a team of Domestic / Laundry Assistants
  • Responsible for ordering all necessary products used within the home, whilst also checking for competitive prices
  • Adhering to all cleaning schedules and the colour-coded equipment system
  • Respectful of resident’s personal information - always maintaining confidentiality
  • Complying with all relevant statutory and legal requirements
  • Taking an active role in identifying the changing needs of our clients and realising the importance of maintaining accurate documentation, for yourself and your team
  • Knowledgeable in respect of all Infection Control regulations and procedures, adhering to these at ALL times, to prevent cross contamination

Your Skills

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have good Management skills
  • Have the ability to nurture a good working relationship with other Managers and Nurses within the care home
  • Have good communication and literacy skills; preferably computer literate
  • Be organised and able to prioritise their workload
  • Have the ability to use initiative
  • Have a keen eye for attention to detail to ensure rooms are maintained to the highest standard
  • Also, (to be brutally honest), you need to be just that little bit self-critical and obsessive

Qualifications

None required, but increased rate of pay if you hold a relevant NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification. Experience within the care sector is preferred but not essential. Hotel Housekeeping Management experience is preferred.

*Pay will be determined on age, experience and qualifications. Your hourly rate will be reviewed again on the successful completion of your 6 month probationary period.

**Payable on completion of a successful 6 month probation. The employee that made the referral must also remain employed by us, in order to be eligible for the £50 Bonus.
